Fall in the Cemetery

I thought I would include tombstones in this fall shot. I think the tall obelisk helps to balance out the tree. If you haven't been to Lexington Cemetery in the fall, you're missing out on a real show.

Make a Left at Sportsman Liquor

Formerly Sportsman Liquor on the corners of Walton, Winchester and National. My landlord bought this and let the lease run out for the liquor store. It was a real dive and "eyesore." But, it's still standing. This is about a block away from my business and has been around for decades. To find my place, I used to tell people "make a left at Sportsman Liquor." Everybody, and I mean everybody, knew this landmark - even politicians and business giants.

Are we in Mexico?

This building is next to my business. I just love the colors - if I were in Mexico. But most of the buildings around there are interesting. It's a former warehouse district repurposed for professionals, trades, and arts. The colors are exaggerated in this shot from a Photoshop action emulating a "Lomo" camera. Just out of frame to the left is the tree casting the shadow. The green paint goes to the tree, breaks, then starts back up beyond it. Honestly, I could get a roller in there easily to paint it. Then again, it would lose its charm and wouldn't have that story frozen in time anymore. (Nikon F4s, Kodak Portra 400)

Red leaves - Berea

The last picture I took exiting Berea Forest recently. It was probably the most satisfying. I like landscapes, etc., but these close ups just bring you in closer to nature. I also like it because the leaves were just beginning to turn that day, and this one was just standing there, daring me to take its picture. (Nikon F4s, Kodak Portra 400)

Patient (?) dog

Daisy's a good hiker, but she doesn't always follow instructions. I have to tie her to a tree if I go near any cliffs. I've pulled her from edges before because she constantly sniffs - probably right over! Here. she''s waiting on my to come back from a cliff edge. I ducked below the rock and played hide-and-seek to get her ears to go up. (Nikon F4s, Kodak Portra 400)
